Torghele’s are an ideal host for a unique cross-country skiing holiday in the Alpine village of Balderschwang and with the hotel's own Olympia cross-country ski school, nothing will go pear-shaped. Balderschwang is a genuine cross-country paradise and is exceptionally popular with those in the know. At up to 1047 metres altitude, 122 kilometres of slopes tempt you to go out on extensive tours. Whether skating or classic style, that is entirely up to you. As one of the most snow-assured high mountain valleys in the region, Balderschwang inspires with its natural backdrop and sunny location.

#1 Gschwend Trail

INFORMATION

The Gschwend trail is conveniently accessible direct from the hotel and is available in both classic and skating style. The trail proceeds through the dreamy winter landscape to the German-Austrian border. This route is challenging and very varied. It is not without good reason that it is Sonja Torghele's favourite trail.

#2 Vordere Scheuenloipe

  • Difficulty level: medium

INFORMATION

Access to the Vorderen Scheuenloipe is conveniently right from the hotel. The trail can be used in either Classic or Skating styles. The small circular course has a longer ascent, while the descent is scenically very beautiful.

#3 Hintere Scheuenloipe

INFORMATION

Access to Hinteren Scheuenloipe is convenient from the hotel. The trail is available in both classic and skating styles. The altitude trail is a real dream for skating fans and provides greater ascents and long descents. This route is the perfect choice for technically adept cross-country skiers.

#4 Grenzlandloipe Balderschwang - Hittisau

INFORMATION

Access to the border area trail, Balderschwang – Hittisau, is possible directly from the hotel. The trail can be used in both classic and skating styles. This altitude trail is ideal for a day tour and provides both climbs and descents. The variety-packed tour proceeds along the Bolgenach to Hittisau in Bregenzerwald. Skiers who have plenty of endurance can do an out and back journey, but there is also the option to take the free ski bus for one of the legs.
